The Event Week is live! In Pathé Leidsche Rijn, second-year Hotel and Event Management students were given their Event Week assignment: design a concept to bring the brand Golden Giraffe to the next level, increasing participation of brands and companies with their events and raising the total number of visitors.
Gouden Giraffe And EventBranche
During the project week, Tio students form groups to work on a case. This year, the case is Golden Giraffe in collaboration with the EventBranche events platform. After the kick-off assignment, the students work on their case for three days. The case is then presented in the final to a 3-person jury panel with Maarten Schram of IDEA, Menno Tielemans of TivoliVredenburg and Robin van Leeuwen of EventBranche. Which group will snatch first prize?
Dare to be different
Before starting the assignment, the students are given inspiration in guest lectures by event professional Martijn Timmermans and Sjoerd Weikamp of EventBranche. About Golden Giraffe, original events and the best method for brain-storming. The key message of today: dare to be different!
What are the plans?
“Great that we can do this assignment!”, says Event Management student Sabine. After the guest lectures in the morning, the students are eager to get started. Do they have any plans already about how to help Golden Giraffe? All groups are still busy brain-storming; circus tents, drones and other ideas are buzzing about. “This is so different from last year’s Hotel and Event Week! It’s great to do an entirely different type of project. Working for a real client is also a great advantage, much more fun than working on a fictive case or company”, says Event Management student Maureen. Student Merel, who will probably be pitching the eventual idea later on, says working on a real case is a great benefit: “It’s amazing, because in a few weeks’ time, you can actually see our ideas happening!”
Let’s enjoy a successful week full of excellent ideas!
