How can I apply for a Tio bachelor programme?
You can apply for a Tio bachelor programme via the website or during one of Tio’s open days. For applying via the website please click on registration. It is also possible to apply during a Tio open day, where Tio staff is available to help you fill in the application form.What is the application deadline for a Tio bachelor programme?
You can apply throughout the entire year, so basically until the first week of lectures. However if you need a visa to come to study in The Netherlands at Tio, another application deadline applies. The application deadline for the academic year starting in January for students needing a visa is the 1st of October and for enrolment in September it is the 1st of May.
Please note that a visa is not the only consideration for applying on time. By applying on time you can ensure yourself admission to the location of your choice and it helps you avoid being placed on a waiting list. Tio also recommends applying on time to give yourself ample time to apply for student grants/loans, to order books and if needed, to find a place to live in The Netherlands.Is it only possible to apply for enrolment in September?
No, enrolment is also possible in January for the bachelor programmes at the campuses in Amsterdam and UtrechtWhat are the academic requirements for the English bachelor programmes?
- Havo-, vwo- (any profile), mbo4-, HMA, SRH or CBM diploma. Havo, vwo (any profile), mbo4,
- Comparable diploma, for example: German Fachhochschulreife or Abitur (algemeine Hochschulreife), British GCE A levels, French Baccalaureat, American High School (incl. a college preparatory programme) or secondary hotel school/tourism/business education.
- English Proficiency: CEFR: ≥ B2. TOEFL: iBT ≥ 75-80 points (Institutional TOEFL code Tio: 4764). IELTS academic: ≥ 6.0. Cambridge exam: ≥ 160 points / Cambridge First Certificate.

How can I be sure that I meet the academic requirements for the English bachelor programmes?
If you are not sure whether or not you meet the academic requirements, you can send documentation of your previous and current education to Tio's International office (admissions@tio.nl). Please include a copy of your passport with your documents. Your documents will be evaluated and you will be notified about the assessment within 2 weeks.Does Tio provide proof of registration?
If you need proof of registration, the student administration will provide the necessary documents upon request. Simply send an email to csa@tio.nl with your request.Is it possible to make changes to my registration after being accepted for admission?
Changes to your registration will be processed after sending a written request to the student administration. You may be contacted either by the student administration or location manager about the changes. Please note: if the changes involve cancelation of either some or all optional subject(s) or the entire bachelor programme, cancelation fees as set out in the general terms and conditions are applicable.How can I cancel my registration after being accepted?
The student can terminate the agreement at all times. The student can inform Tio about the termination in writing and/or by email. For a period of 14 days from the concluding of the agreement the student will have the option to terminate this free of charge without stating reasons, unless the student has already attended lessons of the Tio programme concerned.- Termination before the start of the academic year
In the event of termination before 1 July (or before 1 December for the January enrolment), only the enrolment fee of €95 will be charged. In the event of termination in the period between 1 July and 31 August (between 1 December and 31 December for January enrolment), Tio will in principle charge 25% of the study programme fees.
Study programme fee is taken to mean: the sum of the tuition fee and the price of the optional courses and seminars. - Termination after the start of the academic year
If the academic year has started, you will also pay an amount in proportion to the duration of the period of time until termination of the study agreement. The amount you will have to pay will be calculated using the following formula:
A. (number of commenced months prior to the termination / 12 months) * study programme fees

B. 25% * study programme fees

Is there an age restriction for applying to Tio?
Tio does not have an age restriction. As long as you meet the academic requirements, you are welcome as a student to Tio. Most our students are between the age of 16 and 30 years old.Does Tio have a waiting list?
You can apply throughout the entire year. From May (for the groups starting in September) and December (the groups that start mid January) the groups will be formated. Tio aims at being able to admit everybody who applies to the programmes and location they choose. However late admissions may not be able to placed right away and may be put on a waiting list. The recommendation is to apply for the programme and the location of your choice as soon as possible.Does Tio use a drawing to admit students?
Tio does not use a drawing system, students get admitted by the first come first serve system.Impairments
What should I do if I for example, am dyslexic or have ADHD?
Students with impairment (physical disability, chronic illness or for example, dyslexia) are provided an equal chance at study success within the given possibilities. When applying or during a personal interview you can indicate your specific impairment. In consultation with the impairment coordinator, you can discuss which arrangements Tio can provide you.
